Routine maintenance would generally include services like oil changes, wheels and tires, brakes and rotors, batteries, air filters, wiper blades, etc. Maintenance plan benefits vary by issuing partner and participating service center. Please refer to the 2 Year Maintenance Plan certificate for details.

Following the instructions on the maintenance plan certificate, contact the participating service center to set an appointment, present the maintenance plan certificate upon arrival and prior to authorizing service, and always request a detailed estimate so you fully understand your financial responsibility to the service center. The 2 Year Maintenance Plan was issued at a time when most service centers stocked conventional motor oil and most vehicles would accept conventional motor oil. Modern vehicle manufacturers now specify synthetic motor oil due to improved performance and environmental considerations. The service center is only permitted to use the manufacturer-recommended oil type for the vehicle. If the service center does not offer conventional motor oil, or they do not stock the manufacturer-recommended oil type for your vehicle, and they are able to order it in, they will apply a discount to the retail price of your synthetic or specialty oil change.

Conventional oil, also known as crude oil, exists organically in the earth's crust and is pulled from the ground using a drill and pump. Hydrogen and carbon make up the bulk of its composition, but it may also include traces of sulfur, nitrogen and metals. Manufacturers refine the crude oil and may add a few additives to improve performance, but conventional oil is mainly natural in composition.

Unlike conventional oil, synthetic oil is mostly human-made. It consists mostly of synthetic chemicals. Additives are also added to clean the oil, reduce friction and reduce oxidation effects. Because they are human-made, synthetic molecules have a consistent mass and shape, helping them flow through the engine more smoothly.
